Have you thought about what causes the insecurity when you don’t excel or know as much as the other person on a certain topic?
There are advantages to not knowing everything..it makes one a good listener if one opens their mind to absorb the knowledge. And good listeners are always loved!
Hi! I think the insecurity is mainly driven from a fear that I am not worthy or good enough. That I will need to keep up with external forms of validation in order to prove my worth. Obviously looking for anything outside myself for validation will never make me happy, so it's really about learning to look for forms of gratification or validation I can give myself.
Very true, I'm trying to be a better listener! It is nice when you stop thinking about what you're going to say in return and just fully invest yourself into the other person's story.
